SAFE Data Center and German Data Forum enter into long-term collaboration
Following a decision by the German Data Forum (RatSWD), the Research Data Center of the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE has now received permanent accreditation. Thus, the SAFE Data Center is now permanently on the list of research data centers in Germany that work closely with the RatSWD. As an independent advisory body to the German Federal Government, the RatSWD is committed to making data widely available for independent research so that science can use data to find evidence-based solutions to societal problems.
“The accreditation of the SAFE Data Center by the RatSWD shows that our approach of providing a comprehensive data offering on European financial markets for researchers from different disciplines is on the right track: namely, to open up international data sources and make them available so that research gaps can be closed,” says Alexander Hillert, who took over as Program Director of the SAFE Data Center from SAFE Board Member Uwe Walz in December 2021. “The accreditation by the RatSWD also means that we will expand our offering to include more data sets,” Hillert adds.
The RatSWD accreditation parallels the SAFE Data Center team’s active participation in the Standing Committee on Research Data Infrastructure (FDI Committee). The FDI Committee supports the work of the RatSWD with its expertise in the practical implementation and delivery of research data infrastructures.
